Matthew 20:1-16 | The Parable of the Workers in the Vineyard

This week we turn to the Parable of the Vineyard, where a landowner pays every worker the same wage — regardless of how many hours they put in.

We explore how this parable answers the question posed by the rich young ruler and echoed by Peter: what must I do to gain eternal life? Jesus overturns the assumption that God's kingdom is earned through effort, revealing instead a kingdom built on lavish, scandalous generosity — one that reaches those we'd least expect. Eternal life isn't a wage we work for; it's a gift we receive.
