Psalm 121 | Where Does Our Help Come From?

On the Second Sunday of Lent, we journey with the ancient pilgrims who sang the Songs of Ascents as they made their way up to Jerusalem. Psalm 121 begins with a question: "I lift my eyes to the mountains—where does my help come from?"

For those first singers, the mountains were not just beautiful—they were dangerous. Bandits. Wild animals. Flash floods. Real threats. And yet in the middle of real danger, they declared something bold:

The Lord watches over you. He neither slumbers nor sleeps. He will keep you from all harm.

But what does that mean?
