Transformed from Within

I have a friend who is pastoring up north among the Gitxsan First Nation’s people. He recently shared these stories of how people are encountering Jesus through prayer. I found this so encouraging so wanted to share it. Let's trust Jesus to continue to do the same here in Squamish, and in greater and greater measure.

"A young man is being transformed by the power of God. He was suicidal, though I would not know till a week later, then God spoke to his heart, giving hope and changing him from the inside out. One week later, he said, “When you prayed, something changed inside of me. I no longer wanted to take my life.” His mother remarked three weeks later, “I’m surprised you haven’t been out on a drunk in the last number of weeks.” “Mom, something’s different inside,” he said, “I don’t want to do that anymore.” Praise God for his power to change hearts from the inside out! The old barren wasteland gives way to a new landscape brightly lit by the presence of God.

Peace that Passes All Understanding

A young fellow began to ponder his childhood family and its impact on his own family. He longed for his extended family to know the God he had come to know, love and serve. The more he thought about it the more unsettled he became. He began to cry out to God to meet him, his family and his extended family. After about fifteen minutes of prayer he suddenly began to experience the presence and peace of God. He said, “my worries melted away and joy filled my heart”. He continued another fifteen minutes praying and basking in the peace of God. He slept peacefully.

God is at work in hearts and lives among the Gitxsan First Nation’s people of the northwest. Would you join in prayer that God’s work in their lives would continue and thrive leading to stable house fellowships on many reserves? Pray that many others will be touched with the message of the gospel.
