And Mary said, "My soul glorifies the Lord and my spirit rejoices in God my Saviour, for he has been mindful of the humble state of his servant. From now on all generations will call me blessed, for the Mighty One has done great things for me - holy is his name." Luke 1:46-9
As I sang the Magnificat this week, I thought, "We can sing Mary's song too! Generations will call us 'blessed' because of the great things He has done for us! We ARE those upon whom His favour rests." It's because we know Him; we carry His Presence in us. You and I are so loved that Jesus left the glory of heaven to come to be with US. Immanuel is 'God with us' not just now, but each hard and frustrating day of our lives - to bring hope and comfort and peace to those days. If Christmas stirs up difficult things for you, remember that He is with you. Remember that his favour rests on you. Turn and look into His face.
