I finally got back to my place of rest with the Lord this morning....after not being able to find it for a couple of weeks. Jesus and I sat down and we chatted for a while; then as I sometimes do, my thoughts wandered away from him. I caught myself drifting and apologized, ran back, and there he was still seated, waiting for me! I cried I was so touched!
I'm in Judges right now and this morning I read the story of Gideon (Judges 6-8), who asked the Lord to wait while he went off to prepare an offering. And the Lord said, "I will wait until you return." Wow! What a beautiful picture of how much he loves us!
