We at the River desire to model an open culture, so no secrets, healthy self awareness, we want to be known, are all something we strive to live out.
So as a church we want to model this, especially us as a elder board and leadership team.
That means that anyone can visit an elder meeting, you just need to call one of the pastors and ask if it's an appropriate evening to visit, then you're in. Again, it shouldn't be a secret to who's on a board, or what goes on in a board meeting.
So in case you're wondering, here's how our board meetings look per month.
So we meet the 2nd & 4th Wednesday of the month, at least for this year.
The 2nd Wednesday is a standard board meeting where we work through an Agenda.
The 4th Wednesday is a time devoted to prayer, where all CORE Leaders of the River gather pray for all members and adherents from the River. Something we have done is write all the names of each and every person who attends the River, whether they are Members or Adherents, on these little coloured pieces of paper. Then we gather and each CORE leader pulls a name, and prays for that person. Pretty creative idea. Of course if something pertinent and pressing comes up we take time to listen and pray for that person specifically. It's an evening devoted to listening to God and praying for our church family.
The time is usually from 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm.
So if you want to visit, call either Pastor Darcy or Kenda, and let us know you'd like to come.
