Online Giving

We as leadership of The River Church believe that God is calling us to take a step of faith as it concerns our finances. In these times as we continue to grow and experience our own financial needs, we can be tempted to hoard until "we are better able to give." But you know that is not living by faith. So we as a Church Council have decided to tithe 10% of our monthly income every month to support these three local and global ministries. The 10% will be split divided three ways equalling 3.33% to each ministry.

Place of Rescue

Place of Rescue is an AIDS shelter and orphanage in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.

We shelter parents with AIDS and their children in small family-style cottages. Visiting them in their modest homes we can provide intimate care. When parents die of AIDs, their children find a home here too. To find out more, check out PlaceOfRescue.com. A portion of your general giving to the river church goes directly to help support these children and families in crisis.

Young Life

Since Young Life Canada began in 1954, its leaders have cared enough to leave the comfort of their adult worlds and enter the arena of high school and junior high school life. You will find Young Life leaders sitting in the stands at hockey games, walking the streets of inner-city neighborhoods, driving carloads of kids to the shopping malls or tutoring students in study centres after school.

In fact, you will find them almost anywhere you can find kids. Young Life leaders model trust, respect, and responsibility to their young friends, and they do it within a meaningful relationship, within the context of a teenager's world. The River Church gives a portion of thier monthly income to help support our new Young Life Staff person. If you want to learn more check out YoungLife.ca.

The Christian & Missionary Alliance

The Chirstian and Missionary Alliance Canada began as a missional movement in the late 1850's and still today we train and support 100's of missionarys worldwide. To learn more how your giving is spent, check out CMAlliance.ca.

If you would like to give, click the "Donate Now" button below. When you click, you will be transferred to Canada Helps, a secure online charity site. Here are the steps to follow:

1. Select the amount, frequency, and fund/designation to which you wish to donate.
2. You must register with Canada Helps if you have not previously done so. This will allow the site to track your donation information for record keeping and tax receipting purposes. You will be prompted to login or register once you specify your donation, click on "Continue" and then click on "Checkout".
3. If you would like to set-up a repeat monthly donation or designate to multiple funds in the same transaction, please specify the division of funds in the memo box titled "Message/Instructions for The River" once you link to the Canada Helps website.
4. Donations will be used as intended and designated unless the project is over-subscribed, completed or cannot be completed, in which case the funds will be re-directed to a similar or like project. If a designation is not already approved by the Board of Elders, the funds will be redirected to a similar or like program as approved by the Board.
